33 Publishing is an independent scholarly press. We publish books that take historical traditions seriously as sources of knowledge and examine them with the tools of contemporary scholarship. Our list covers the history of healing and the history of science, philosophy and epistemology, celestial medicine, and the teaching of these subjects at a professional level. Some titles belong to long-form research series. Others stand alone. All of them are written for readers who want the evidence behind the tradition: sources named, arguments tested, and specialist terms explained in plain words on first use.
The press works from the East Shore of Kootenay Lake in British Columbia.
